Snacking is an important part of our diet. And even important when it comes to kids. Kids have a small tummy and filling it nutrients in very important for their healthy growth. But is it possible to give them all nutrients in the normal three meals? The answer is NO. Three small meals are not enough for proper nutrition. Hence, snacking is the best option for you.

Snacks can be healthy part of your toddler's diet giving them all the nutrients they need and helps them avoid their hunger cry. A healthy snack can offer the macros that helps brain development, proper functioning of the body, help in height increase and for a healthy living.

A good diet for a child to grow properly includes a well-balanced diet and good carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, vitamins and enough water for the body . Growing kids get hungry very often. They need food between the period of breakfast and meal time. Instead of giving your children unhealthy food ,fill your child tummy with healthy food that will give them energy.

Popcorn is a filling snack and is a hit among children. Kids love popcorn. Popcorn offers good amount of fibre per serving. You can sprinkle some of your favourite topping as well.

Oat meal with milk

Oats are a good source of fibre and offer a good amount of protein as well. Milk is high is calcium and is good for the bones. Mixing oats with milk increases its nutritional value. You can also add fruits slices to make it taste better.

Fresh Fruits

Fruits are the go to snack. Fruits are the healthiest snack for kids. Fruits like apple, banana, orange, pineapple and others offer good amount of nutrients and sugar. Most fruits contain fibre, potassium, vitamins and good carbohydrates.

Fruit smoothie

Add fruits and milk and make a tasty fruit smoothie. Fruits smoothies are a glass filled with many nutrients. Use fresh fruits like banana, pomegranate, and mangoes to make your smoothie. With natural sugar from fruits, your kid will not realise whats inside and enjoy the sweet fruit smoothie.

Vegetable soup

Vegetable soup is another healthy snack that offers all the macronutrients that a kid requires. Mix vegetables like carrot, beans, corn, tomato, spinach and other vegetables and make a soup that is high in nutrition. Vegetable soup is a great way to make kids eat veggies.


Nuts like almond, walnut, peanut and seed like sesame seed, chia seed offer good fat, fibre and antioxidants. A handful of nuts and seed will provide kids with daily essential macronutrients required for healthy growing.


Yogurt is an excellent snack for kid that offers protein and calcium. Low fat yogurt or fat free yogurt with some sliced fruits offer taste plus nutrition. Protein and calcium help in muscle and bone health.
